100 Laps – At the halfway point the Busch brothers are at the front with Kurt ahead of Kyle. The top 5 is rounded off by Ryan Newman, Jeff Burton and Denny Hamlin. Jeff Gordon continues in 10th position while further back Tony Stewart and Juan Pablo Montoya have been trading paint for 32nd position. Pole sitter David Gilliand has dropped to the back of the field while two cars have retired from the race.

CAUTION - The second caution of the day following a blown tire for Kyle Petty (#45) which shredded the bodywork of his car and left metal on the race track. Several cars, including Tony Stewart, appear to have run over the debris. Stewart’s problems were compounded during the pit stops when Gilliand touched Robby Gordon spinning Gordon sideways into his pit stall in front of Stewart blocking the exit.
After the chaos Kevin Harvick was in the lead as the field went back to green flag racing but was quickly passed by Kurt Bush. Jeff Gordon is up to 10th, Montoya is 32nd while Tony Stewart has dropped to 38th.
The field has bunched up with the first 21 cars covered by less than 2 seconds.
50 Laps – A quarter of the way in to the race and Tony Stewart has just taken the lead ahead of Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman and David Gilliland. Jeff Gordon is running 22nd after a second brush with the wall exiting turn 2. Juan Pablo Montoya has dropped back to the rear of the field in 42nd place. This has been a long run of green falg racing and we can expect the first round of pit stops within the next ten laps.
CAUTION – First caution flag for a single car spin out by Boris Said (#60). Most cars made a pit stop with Kurt Busch taking the lead on pit exit, ahead of David Gilliand and Tony Stewart. Jeff Gordon is up to 18th position while Montoya is still running 34th.
GREEN FLAG - The race is underway and with a couple of laps behind them pole sitter David Gilliand retains his lead while behind him cars are starting to run three wide as they jockey for position.
Tony Stewart is looking strong in second with Kurt Busch alongside., Gordon has moved up to 34th from 42nd with Montoya right behind him.
