The new Peugeot 908 diesel powered sports prototype (below) has come out ahead of its Audi rival during the first official test session for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Driven by triple ChampCar Champion Sebastian Bourdais, the French car lapped the clsssic cicruit at a record pace a full 1.5 seconds ahead of the Audi.

Diesel powered cars from Audi and Peugeot dominated the proceedings with five out of the top six cars.
